Every year, we can look forward to new smartphone releases, whether flagships, foldables, or budget phones. That’s because most phone companies release new models yearly, some at the start, others during the summer, and some in the last quarter of the year.
If 2024 is anything to go by, then 2025 will be bigger and better in the world of smartphones, with a focus on AI features, processor updates, and camera improvements. A few leaks here and there and hints from companies already paint an interesting picture for smartphones this year. So, what are some of the high-tech phones you can look forward to in 2025?
Samsung Galaxy S25
Samsung is usually the first company to start the year with a launch of their Galaxy S series. Last year, they released the Galaxy S24 lineup in January, and this year wasn’t different as the Galaxy Unpacked event happened recently on January 22nd.
The event took place in San Jose, California, and Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 range, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra. A few new updates will catch your attention, like Samsung’s bold move from their Exynos chips to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The series employs Corning’s latest Gorilla Armor 2 glass, which is more resistant to fractures. You’ll notice that the phone’s designs have moved from the boxy shape to the previous smooth curve design. Camera specs aren’t that much different from the S24, only that there will be more features thanks to AI. In these new models, Samsung has included its AI assistant, Bixby, and Google’s AI, Gemini, to make your experience smarter.
iPhone 17
Any iPhone diehard always has September marked on their calendar as that is the month Apple launches their latest iPhone series. Last year, it was the iPhone 16 range, and this year, it will be the much-awaited iPhone 17, said to have new exciting features.
According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple plans to replace the larger Plus model with a thinner iPhone 17 Slim phone. The new iPhone is said to have a sleek design, an optimized screen with a high refresh rate, and one rear camera instead of two found on regular iPhones.
As for the iPhone 17 series, including the standard and Pro models, analysts predict that they’ll have a higher refresh rate perfect for scrolling and a higher resolution selfie camera at 24 megapixels.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra
Xiaomi already released their Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro phones last year and the 15 Ultra is what people can’t wait to get their hands on. Especially after the insane capabilities of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Some believe the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s camera capabilities rival, or even surpass, those of the iPhone.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a 1-inch image sensor and a 50-megapixel main camera, and the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to be even higher with a 200-megapixel sensor. The phone is predicted to use the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and offer much better functionality. It won’t be long until we find out as the phone is slated for release after the Chinese Spring Festival.
Google Pixel 10
The Google Pixel 8 and 9 have set good momentum for the upcoming Pixel 10 pointing to AI features as the main update of the phone. A report by Android Authority, which claims to have come across credible documents from Google’s processor division says that the Google Pixel 10 series will have generative AI-based video editing capabilities as well as tools for editing photos called “Sketch to Image” and “Speak to Tweak”.
The features will allow users to create perfect images from rough drawings. Regarding its hardware, the Google Pixel 10 will run on a Tensor 5 processor and have a higher zoom power.
Budget Phones For 2025
The phones mentioned above will probably set you back a couple of hundred dollars or even more than a thousand dollars, which is quite high. But if you are looking for an affordable phone, there are still some amazing releases for this year. Apple’s iPhone SE and Google’s Pixel 9A will be launched this year. They won’t come with a hefty price tag but will still offer top-notch features.
However, one thing is certain: whether it’s a top-of-the-line or budget smartphone, these gadgets will highly favor gamers. An update in the refresh rate, screen resolution, and processor capabilities translates to a smooth gameplay experience.
Streaming games will be seamless, and high-quality mobile or casino games won’t be compromised. If you fancy casino games, expect HD live gaming and a 3D slot experience from real money casinos. No lags, no glitches, and no poor quality, just high-quality casino gaming on the best devices on the go.
Other smartphones expected in 2025 include the Samsung Galaxy Fold/Flip 7, Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, OnePlus 13, OnePlus Open 2, and Motorola Razr. Will you be changing your phone this year, and if so, which one will you choose?
